Seminar: Former AL AG Bill Baxley Shares Experiences with Former AL AG and Senator Luther Strange

MARCH 18, 2024 // UA School of Law

On Monday, March 18, 2024, former Alabama Attorney General Bill Baxley (Alabama Law Class of 1964) visited Alabama Attorney General and Senator Luther Strange's seminar class at Alabama Law to talk about his experiences while serving in state office. The conversation focused on Baxley's role in 1977 of successfully prosecuting Ku Klux Klan member Robert Chambliss for the murder of four children—Denise McNair, Addie Mae Collins, Carole Robertson, and Cynthia Morris Wesley— through the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham.

The event was hosted in the Travis Jesse Bedsole Courtroom at the University of Alabama School of Law and was made possible, in part, by the J.L. Bedsole Foundation.
